How many tiles will it take for a construction work, will estimate now.
Calculation for Floor Tiles Work
If the tiles are to be laid in a space of 1500 square feet then the total work area is 1620 with 6% waste.
If the size of square floor tiles is 12 “x 12”
then the area of a tile = (12 “x 12”) ÷ 144
= 1 sq.ft
Number of tiles = 1620 ÷ 1 = 1620 Nos tiles
Calculation for Wall Tiles Work
In wall tiles we hold 10% waste
Then the amount of tiles
= 1500 x 1.10
= 1850 square feet
Number of tiles = 1850 ÷ 1 = 1850 Nos tiles
Calculation of mortar for tiles work
On the wall we hold 1″ thick plaster
Wall mortar ratio (1: 2)
On the floor we hold a 1.5″ thick plaster
Mortar ratio on the floor (1: 3)
Mortar for 1500 sq ft wall tiles
I’ll take it out
The amount of wet spice in the plaster
= 1500 x (1 “/12)
= 125 cubic feet
Amount of dry spices = 125 x 1.5
= 187.50 cft
The sum of the ratios = (1 + 2) = 3
Amount of Materials
Cement = (187.5 x 1 ÷ 3) x 0.6
= 50.00 bags
Sand = (16.50 x 2 ÷ 3)
= 125.00 cubic feet
